South Florida Heads To New Orleans For Clash With Tulane

Tampa, Fla. Jan. 5, 2023 – South Florida women's basketball (9-6, 1-1) heads to the Big Easy to face Tulane (7-6, 0-2) in its second true road game of the season. Tipoff is slated for 3:00 p.m. ET and the game will stream live on ESPN+.
 
SETTING THE STAGE
South Florida is looking for its first victory of the new year while the Green Wave are on the hunt for their first conference victory of the season.
 
THE SOUTH FLORIDA-TULANE SERIES
The Bulls hold a 30-20 lead in the all-time series against Tulane and the pairings span back to the 1991-92 season. South Florida has captured 21 of the last 22 pairings and is on a two-game win streak against the Green Wave. USF captured the last clash, which was a 66-54 Bulls win, in Tampa (Jan. 14, 2023).
 
LAST TIME OUT
Redshirt junior forward Romi Levy led the charge for the Bulls with a career-best 24-point output, which marked her sixth double-figure game of the year and the second 20-plus point game of her career. Levy also dished out a team-leading six assists. Freshman guard Vittoria Blasigh added 20 points while connecting on four 3-pointers. Blasigh has scored in double-digits 10 times this season and has had a trio of 20-plus point games this campaign. Senior forward Evelien Lutje Schipholt grabbed 10 boards while redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson matched a career-high nine rebounds while dishing out five assists.
 
BULL LEADERS
South Florida is led by freshman guard Vit­toria Blasigh (14.3 ppg). Blasigh (43 3PM) is ranked 9th nationally in total 3-pointers made. Sophomore wing Carla Brito (9.7 ppg.) leads on the glass with 7.3 rebounds per contest, which ranks 8th in the American. Redshirt senior guard Aerial Wilson dishes out a team-best 4.3 assists per contest. Wil­son's 57 total assists rank third in the Amer­ican.

In 2022-23, the Bulls had four players recognized by The American for impressive seasons, including Elena Tsineke (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Dulcy Fankam Mendjiadeu (AAC Co-Player of the Year, All-Conference First Team), Sammie Puisis (AAC Newcomer of the Year, All-Conference Second Team) and Carla Brito (AAC All-Freshman Team).
